Class meets each Sunday at 2:00-4:00pm September 17 - October 22
This 6-week class teaches the basic components of drawing representationally, translating the 3-dimensional scene to the 2-dimensional plane of paper. Taught by Beverly Ress, artist and teacher for over 15 years.
After the 6-week course, students are invited to a private session of “Drawing Doctor” for an additional fee. Improvement in drawing skills guaranteed!
Students are required to bring: a portable drawing board, pencil set or individual pencils (including #2, #4, #6, #8), 2-3 kneaded erasers, pink pearl eraser; 18” cork-backed aluminum or stainless steel ruler, 18 x 24 in. newsprint pad and/or drawing pad, conte crayons, artists/drafting tape, pencil sharpener. (materials cost approximately $45-$50)
Open to the public. All artist-levels welcome.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Beverly Ress has been teaching drawing for over 15 years at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Catholic University, Georgetown University, and the University of Maryland. She loves nurturing drawing students as they discover how to see, and put that vision on paper. Her own drawings have been included in two national invitational drawing exhibits, among many other group and solo exhibitions. Her 2015 her solo exhibition, The World is a Narrow Bridge was shown at the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center.
Beverly Ress received her MFA in sculpture from the Rinehart School of Sculpture, at the Maryland Institute College of Art and her AB degree in Fine Arts from Earlham College in Richmond, IN.
